Summary
Vogel’s designs and manufactures TV and display mounting solutions for consumer and professional markets worldwide. Rapid catalog growth and disconnected systems limited consistency, visibility, and regulatory readiness. Vogel’s implemented Inriver as a central product information hub connecting SAP, DAM, and e-commerce platforms. Automated content generation and syndication improved accuracy across channels. Teams gained clearer ownership and confidence managing ecological data supporting Digital Product Passport requirements while scaling global operations.
Outcomes:
- Centralized 5,000+ SKUs across regions and markets
- Automated generation of product leaflets and PDFs
- Reduced time spent on data distribution through workflow automation
- Improved consistency and accuracy of product data for customers
- Supported ecological and DPP compliance reporting
The Challenge
Managing product data for over 5,000 SKUs across diverse consumer and professional markets posed significant challenges for Vogel’s. The rapid growth of their product catalog, combined with the need to distribute data consistently across websites, marketplaces, and channel partners, risked inaccuracies and inefficiencies.
“PIM is really important in our product development process and also product communication. It’s where we keep the product information for our customers and for our own websites,” said Lian Moerenhout‑Broekhuijsen, Product Manager for Vogel’s. However, ensuring uniformity and accuracy across multiple touchpoints became increasingly complex as the number of SKUs continued to grow rapidly.
Additionally, new regulatory requirements, such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP), demanded the inclusion of detailed ecological data, further complicating their data management processes. Vogel’s needed a solution that could centralize their product information, streamline updates, and support compliance with evolving regulations, all while maintaining a seamless customer experience.
The Solution
To address its challenges, Vogel’s implemented Inriver, creating a centralized hub that integrates seamlessly with SAP, a DAM system for media assets, and ecommerce platforms. This composable and automated data flow enabled Vogel’s to streamline operations and ensure consistency across its channels.
By leveraging Inriver, Vogel’s automated the generation of product-specific PDF leaflets, significantly reducing manual effort. “We now have product leaflets that are generated automatically through Inriver. That really reduces the time we spend generating product-specific PDFs,” said Moerenhout‑Broekhuijsen. The platform also enabled automated data distribution to marketplaces, websites, and other channels. “For us, this process is largely automated now, which really helps reduce the time that we spend on distributing all this product information to different locations,” Moerenhout‑Broekhuijsen added.
This integration improved efficiency and ensured that Vogel’s could meet evolving regulatory requirements, such as including ecological data for compliance with the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
The Results
With Inriver as the backbone of its product information management, Vogel’s has achieved consistent and accurate product data across all channels, enhancing the customer experience. “It really helps to have Inriver for the customer experience because you have consistent product data. Customers can compare the different products that we have on our website and elsewhere,” said Moerenhout‑Broekhuijsen. Customers now benefit from clear and reliable information, whether they are browsing Vogel’s website, electronic stores, or marketplaces.
The automated generation of product-specific PDF leaflets has significantly reduced manual effort and accelerated time-to-market for new products. Additionally, Vogel’s has streamlined compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Digital Product Passport (DPP), by leveraging Inriver to store and share ecological data. “We also use it to store ecological data that we want to share with our customers. It’s a really important part of being able to report for the DPP,” Moerenhout‑Broekhuijsen explained.
These advancements have allowed Vogel’s to efficiently manage its growing catalog of over 5,000 SKUs while maintaining operational excellence and meeting the diverse needs of its global markets.
Inriver has empowered Vogel’s to establish a unified and scalable approach to managing product data, enabling the company to adapt to the demands of a growing product catalog and evolving regulatory landscapes. By creating a centralized “single source of truth” for all product information, Vogel’s has streamlined its operations and positioned itself for expansion into new channels and markets. This centralized system ensures consistency and accuracy across all touchpoints, from their website to marketplaces and beyond.
The flexibility of Inriver has been instrumental in integrating with Vogel’s existing systems, such as SAP and Bynder, to create an automated and composable data flow.
“Inriver is a really good option if you’re looking for software that is flexible to meet your company needs and to be ready for connections with other party software,” said Moerenhout‑Broekhuijsen. This adaptability has allowed Vogel’s to enhance customer experiences, meet regulatory requirements like the Digital Product Passport (DPP), and optimize operational efficiency.
